Behind ‘Operation Education’

The legacy of Paul J. Constantino

Paul was a lifelong champion and proponent of the power of education, and the opportunities it affords. During the Vietnam War, Paul launched "Operation Education" to educate fellow Soldiers serving along the DMZ. He served on the faculty at the College of San Mateo from 1975 to 1995, primarily teaching business and law. He was an avid reader, represented multiple Universities at college fairs across San Mateo County during the 2000s, and collected books to donate to local non-profits and libraries.

The Constantino Family Foundation is a legally recognized, tax-exempt, 501(c)3 private operating foundation dedicated to building a better tomorrow by providing today’s youth equitable access to high-quality educational opportunities. It focuses its philanthropic efforts in the greater San Francisco Bay Area by offering several academic scholarships to Bay Area students.

The Foundation was established in 2022, drawing inspiration from the late Paul J. Constantino (1944-2020), and largely focuses its efforts on making higher education more accessible by awarding scholarships to exceptional Bay Area students. Today, the Foundation is steered by a dynamic Board that focuses its time and efforts towards achieving these goals.
