Spring 2026: Strengthening Partnerships, Expanding Opportunity

Message from the Board President

Dear Friends of the Constantino Family Foundation,

As summer begins, we are reminded of the mission that guides our work: expanding opportunity through education, service, and community investment. From scholarships that support future leaders to microgrants that strengthen local organizations, we believe lasting impact starts with investing in people.

So far this year, the Foundation:

  • awarded scholarships to exceptional students pursuing academic excellence and lives of service,

  • expanded our Bay Area microgrant program supporting food security and STEM education,

  • and donated 500 laptops to the San Mateo County Community College District to help bridge the digital divide for students.

These achievements are only possible because of our dedicated partners, donors, educators, and community members who share our vision of a more equitable and opportunity rich future.

We invite you to read more about the impact we are making together and the lives being changed through your support.

With gratitude and optimism,

Patrick James Constantino

Bridging the Digital Divide: 500 Laptops Donated to SMCCCD

500 Laptops Donated to SMCCCD!

This April, the Constantino Family Foundation delivered 500 laptops, valued at $125,000, to the San Mateo County Community College District (SMCCCD) to support student learning and classroom instruction.

The gift was formally accepted by the SMCCCD Board of Trustees in December of 2025 and entrusted to the District's Information Technology Services Department for distribution to College of San Mateo, Skyline College, and Cañada College. The devices will expand access to technology for students across the district, helping ensure that those with the greatest financial need have the tools necessary to succeed.

The Constantino Family Foundation is honored to partner with SMCCCD in advancing educational opportunities and promoting student success throughout San Mateo County.

Continuing Our Microgrant Program

For the second consecutive year, the Constantino Family Foundation offered Microgrants to community organizations in the Bay Area. Each microgrant is a direct investment in impactful, community-driven initiatives. So far in 2026, the Foundation has awarded microgrants to three outstanding projects:

1. Richmond Neighborhood Center - Food Security Program

For the second consecutive year, the Constantino Family Foundation awarded a microgrant to the Richmond District Neighborhood Center to support food security efforts in San Francisco. The grant will help expand the organization’s food pantry program in Potrero Hill, which, together with its broader network of services, reaches approximately 1,500 households and 3,000 public school students annually.

2. CuriOdyssey - STEM Education & Museum

The Constantino Family Foundation awarded a first-time microgrant to CuriOdyssey at Coyote Point, Burlingame, to support its mission of providing hands-on STEM learning experiences for children and families. Serving visitors and school groups from across the Bay Area, CuriOdyssey’s interactive exhibits and educational programs closely align with the Foundation’s commitment to advancing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education.

3. Burlingame Parks and Recreation - Summer STEM Education

For the second consecutive year, the Constantino Family Foundation awarded a microgrant to the City of Burlingame to support the Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department’s Summer STEAM Camp program. Serving children ages 6–12 from Burlingame and neighboring communities, the long-running nine-week summer program continues a tradition of providing engaging educational and recreational opportunities for local youth.

Scholarship Announcements

We are delighted to announce the 2026 recipients of the Thomas L. Constantino Scholarship at San Mateo Community College District:

Originally from Myanmar, Myint Myat Aung recently moved to the United States and has excelled academically while balancing work and study. A studious individual with exceptional talent in mathematics, engineering, and physics, Myint intends to transfer to UC Berkeley this fall to begin his junior year. In addition to serving as an intern at Stanford University in the semiconductor field, Myint enjoys teaching and tutoring and hopes to earn a Ph.D. and eventually teach at the junior high school level. His humility, leadership, and passion for education exemplify the mission of the scholarship.

Daunte Love is completing his freshman year at Skyline College and plans to transfer after his sophomore year. Passionate about African-American, colonial, and medieval history, as well as psychology and philosophy, he is also an avid genealogist and is currently writing a historical novel inspired by his grandfather’s life. Daunte balances work and school in South San Francisco, while remaining committed to his studies and personal growth. His curiosity, dedication, and thoughtful character make him a deserving recipient of this award.

The 2026 recipient of the LTC Paul J. Constantino Memorial Scholarship at the University of San Francisco is Grace Cuellar.

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Grace recently completed her sophomore year at USF. She serves as an Army ROTC cadet and member of the National Guard and plans to continue her military service for many years to come. Grace aspires to earn a doctorate in physical therapy, with a focus on postpartum pelvic health. Her warmth, talent, and dedication were on full display when she performed a moving a cappella rendition of the National Anthem at the USF Army ROTC Spring Commissioning Ceremony. Grace’s commitment to service, academic excellence, and leadership reflects the values and enduring legacy of LTC Paul J. Constantino.

Congratulations to all of our scholarship recipients. Your achievements and aspirations inspire us, and we are honored to support you as you continue your educational journeys and prepare to make a lasting impact in your communities and beyond.
